Facebook has announced that it was expanding the availability of Messenger’s screen sharing feature in video calls and Messenger Rooms to iOS and Android mobile devices.
Facebook Messenger Screen Share feature allows users to instantly share their screen with friends and family one-on-one or in a group video call with up to eight people. With the introduction of this feature, Messenger Rooms users will now be able to share their screens with up to 16 simultaneous participants.
The new update will let people share memories from their camera roll, shop together online or co-browse social media, and more.
Screen Sharing Steps
1. Start a video call with your contact. After that, swipe up the pill and you will find the “Share Your Screen” option. Tap on it.
2. You will be asked to allow screen sharing. Select the “Start Now“ option.
3. Screen sharing will start on your device. Please note that, screen sharing will not start as long as you are on Facebook Messenger. It only kicks in once you move to the home screen or another app.

“We will soon add the ability to control who can share their screen in Rooms and expand the number of people you can share your screen with up to 50 within Messenger Rooms,” as per the company’s blog post for Facebook Messenger Screen Share.
The feature is available across the world on the latest versions of Messenger’s Android and iOS apps, desktop app, and Web.
Messenger Rooms allows people to create a video chat room via Facebook or Messenger. They can invite up to 50 people to join a video call, including those who don’t have a Facebook account.
Google has launched Shoploop, a new interactive video shopping platform, and Area 120 experiment. In this platform brands and influencers can create short videos showcasing a product and provide a direct link to buy it. Currently only available on mobile web, it aims to combine ads, tutorials, reviews, and shopping in one platform. Shoploop is more interactive than just scrolling through images, titles, and descriptions on a traditional e-commerce site.
